Only credulous buffoons (like, I dunno, the silly “predictors of words” that work for this site) think it’s a redemption arc.  The sane and sensible among us see it as you do - an overall positive outcome for everyone involved, even if it’s not a total win or done for the “right” reasons, whatever those are.  In other

What’s great about that is that you can vote with your dollars by buying Android devices if that bothers you.

I’m no Musk Stan, but people are seriously missing what really went on here. Musk got convinced by some folks in his circle to do this, and then regretted it and tried to back out but couldn’t. The real string-pullers are the Saudis, who wanted access to the personal information of political dissidents on Twitter.

100% this, thank you. She’s not Osage, and other than some vague idea that “all people of color should stick together,” I think it’s pretty offensive to lump all folks with one of the very many different Native American tribe heritages together, and assume their opinions are equally valid on the subject.  I think

All the stars.

My favorite thing about 2023 AV Club is that the first article that appears after the comments end is “An Apology from the A.V. Club.” Too bad it’s from over a decade ago.

The writers are “glorified word predictors,” as the article put it.

We need a replacement holiday for Italian Americans.  Too bad Garibaldi never took up Lincoln’s offer of a commission in the US Army in the Civil War.  Then again, he did plenty to help unify Italy, so…

I still don’t understand why the fact that their hit song “Let’s Get it Started,” was originally “Let’s Get Re[rhymes with started],” and I have heard that version played, and yet it isn’t brought up in every mention of them like every stupid thing every other performer ever did is.

Personally, I think being on a “Vanderpump Rules,” whatever that is, is his claim to fame here. They mention it in the headlines of many, many articles, none of which I read.

I’m loathe to defend any of the current writing staff, but Cuomo’s father and Giuliani were specifically referenced in the episode.  Politicians are organized criminals with the protection of the state.

Agreed, though I think a record producer of any ethnicity would want to bag Adrianna in that episode.  Yowza.

How much of the drop in bike commuting is due to a lot of the folks who used to commute on a bike now working from home?  If I worked a physical job, I’m getting enough exercise already and want to be in an air conditioned vehicle for my commute.  Office jobs are less physical and more likely to have shower facilities

The fact that the mob wasn’t looking very deeply, and were pro-Columbus makes perfect sense.  It makes me question whether you even understood the point of the show. (Protagonist =\= Smart or good.) The main characters being on a side is usually an indicator that that side is *wrong*, or at least not well thought out.

Yeah, it’s interesting in that we’ve essentially watched the It’s Always Sunny cast grow from pretty young adults well through middle age.  It’s striking when you watch it in bunches, but it also doesn’t particularly weird me out since I’m only a few years younger than the cast of that show - I was just out of college

“Dad’s in a k-hole!” - probably the line that sold me on the show for good. Gene is like someone took that line about, “from the mouths of babes,” and made a character of it.

He’s spent the last few years lowering the bar so much that we won’t even notice when they replace him with Sam Chatbotsanti.

Extra! Extra! Neither Man Nor Dog Bites the Other!
