I would love to post a link to a Vulture article that shows the real people the character designs were modeled after, but of course Kinja can’t handle something as simple as a URL. Just google “see the real models for the Archer characters,” and it should turn up. A lot of the similarities to the voice actors was

Live action Archer missed its chance by not happening while Jessica Walter was still alive. I think several of the characters would really be best served by being played by the VA, like Judy Greer and Aisha Tyler, so I think it’s more fun to do this with rules stating the VA *can’t* play them.

Considering this was a reality show that actually happened, this is not that strange a concept. I happen to know one of the winners (Bryan Heitkotter):

While this is egregious - and also, as others have said, a drop in the bucket compared to water use by Nestle and agriculture in California, I do have to point out that there’s a bit of a perverse incentive inherent to how California has tried to curb water use. That said, fuck these folks who just want to pay their

“HPPA”

Yes. According to my wife, who is first-generation American, and who speaks Spanish as a first language, it’s “Latino.” Are you going to tell her she’s wrong?

Agreed @dubyadubya, 100%. I do think just a few things were missing that could really have wrapped things up well:

Hi, Mr. Barsanti - I thought I was ungreyed for the AV Club, but apparently I am no longer. Do you think you could take the time to ungrey me, so folks can more easily see my comment? I promise it is neither insipid nor obnoxious, just a bit long. I even use paragraphs, capitalization, spelling, and grammar*

This.  A thousand times this.  Thank you.

Patrick - would you mind taking me out of the greys for this site?  I am out of the greys on some other G/O media sites, especially AV Club, and I think my comment warrants being seen.  Thanks!

I’m cross posting this, after my nearly identical comment at a popular football website went down the moderation rabbit hole, which is interesting because the level of discourse in the comment section at that site is, frankly abhorrent.

Or a “frack pipe.” C’mon, it was right there!

But will “Emily Dickinson” by Clutch be the show’s theme song? Enquiring minds want to know!

Danger Island was great, at least.

These are really the only LED bulbs that look right in certain types of exposed bulb fixtures, like the Sputnik light I have hanging in my living room entryway. Mine takes 24 (!) bulbs, so even if incandescents were going to continue to be available, you’re looking at 1,440W just to run it with 60W bulbs. (No wonder

Note that many young Muslims that get radicalized and end up suicide bombing or joining ISIS were also often from fairly well-to-do backgrounds.  This is less a white supremacy things than a general hate group thing.
