Yeah, places with real music don't count as nightclubs.

Plus, you can be old and still get away with being rowdy and shitfaced in the right sort of bar without looking like you're desperately trying to hold on to long-gone youth.

I already give zero fucks without the annoyance of dealing with nightclub people.

Me too. Even when I was young enough to go, I only went a handful of times. The whole scene and mentality behind it just irritated the fuck out of me. A good bar, on the other hand, is a different thing entirely…

The right kind of bar is good fun, though.

I feel your pain. I'm married too.

Sounds pretty impressive. I'm in my forties too and I'm only up for hosing off the driveway maybe once a week, not every other day.

Bad booze, bad music, high prices, eardrum piercing noise levels, jam packed with vacuous dolts — what's not to like?

Well, right around the time other club goers start thinking you're too old to be there, you've also gotten old enough to realize how deeply obnoxious and irritating young people are, so it all evens out.

Hmmm… you gotta be dateless enough being this much of a hardcore Dr. Who obsessive even without the misogyny, guess these guys wanted to go for broke…

But, on the other hand, they are so weak and bland you can drink a crapload of them, which is fun sometimes.

Well, it certainly sounded like a real person at a loss for words, I'll give you that.

maybe best not to have non-actors improvising their lines…

Visiting that cemetery is something I've always wanted to do.

Romero said the same thing, he included news reports in NOTLD because to him it made it much more real, and thus scarier.

Totally. We started out that way, then realized dragging 4 year olds to Ethiopian restaurants and the Art Institute and classical music performances was a big waste of everyone's time.

There's a fine line. We were like that, we tried to expose our kids to a variety of foods to develop their palates and discourage them from being picky eaters, but I know bragging rights were lurking in my mind as well.

Probably pretty healthy tho…

A cheap diner breakfast last Sunday with the wife and just some of my children cost close to $50 with tip.

I know. I don't get it either. As PedanticEditorType mentions, kids have an aversion to strong tastes. But I think I read somewhere that kids get acclimated to their mother's diet while in the womb? That could be nonsense, but it would make sense.
