This construction (oh no, be careful, don’t do anything, or the right wing will grow ever stronger) doesn’t work on me any more.
Well, sending tanks after political protestors is certainly a start on taking away our rights...
Protests are not meant to be orderly, cordoned-off events. Yes, sometimes traffic gets blocked. Sometimes business gets disrupted. Don’t do that kind of thing to protest your favorite band breaking up, but protesting Cheetolini? Hell yes! MLK, modernity’s favorite protester now viewed with rose-colored glasses,…
How can you say he’s in no one’s pocket when he’s accepting pharmaceutical money and rejecting bills that increase competition and lower drug prices?
Booker is from NJ. Lots of pharmaceutical companies here.
Someone post a list of the contribution amounts these chucklefucks received from pharma corporations/lobbyists
Between 2010 and 2016, a handful of the Democratic senators who voted “nay” were amongst the top Senate recipients funded by pharmaceutical companies: Sen. Booker received $267,338;
I had the same issue when I started commenting on Jez and similar sites and I’m a white cishet male too. I would argue with people that would tone police or concern shame or whatever buzzword is being thrown around to people that nitpick even a statement of support. Just let it roll off your back and dismiss them…
Yeah, and Will Smith was technically broke for the first three seasons of Fresh Prince.
I’m a het-presenting white woman who grew up in HIV activism. Something I got taught early on is the difference between being an ally and an accomplice. I’m nobody’s ally, because that means standing on the sidelines, maybe manufacturing some weapons and humanitarian goods, but staying out of the fight myself. I’m an…
Eh, idk.
I have the same issue with being a vocal Ally for women as I do for POC in that I just don’t know what to do anymore so I stay silent. It seems like the best course of action... stay silent, vote for the candidate who supports women’s rights, maybe donate to some social justice organizations, and that’s all.

Dude, it’s called the “Women’s March on Washington.” I didn’t even know men were invited. I hadn’t checked the Facebook group. I’m supportive of women’s issues, but I’m also aware that men getting involved with women’s groups, without being explicitly invited, is often seen (justifiably) as butting in.
this is all because of a false case that went viral in china. like you said, the most famous case is a man who took a woman to the hospital and the judge said only a guilty person would help them. This case was held up for years as an example as to why you should never help people in China.
Trying to establish someone’s guilt based on what their reactions to traumatic events is a fool’s errand. There is no standard way for a person to respond to accusations that they are responsible for the tragic death of their sister 20 years ago.
Well, if he didn’t it would sure suck as a grown ass man to have people say on network TV that he murdered his sister. He was never convicted or even charged. I hope he gets a shitload of money.
