Have had many an unpleasant rental Camry. Once the Compass shed its CVT, it became less of a malevolent force and more of a reminder of why Mitsubishi is dying on the vine and why Daimler is the Evil Empire Incarnate.

I would absolutely rather suffer a Compass than a Camry.

Interesting take. I’d go with the Compass/Patriot being something borrowed, as they date to Mitsubishi GS days, with Journey schlepping along. I do agree that LX is really a Chrysler product, despite what Daimler inflicted on it.

So... which is it?

ACVWs without hose clamps are asking for trouble. I don't care if your car hasn't caught fire yet, if you don't use clamps, then it will. Eventually.

Beta Zagatos (US for Spyder) are basically a dime a dozen compared to Coupes. It’s like every one of them came to the US, while Coupes piled up in Europe.

People make stupid choices when it comes to their family and especially their kids. My brother was convinced by wife #2 to ignore daughters #1 and 2 in favor of her. Then, years later, when daughter #1 wanted contact again, wife #3 told him he couldn’t favor daughter #1 over hers (daughter #3).

We're in North County at the moment, having moved from and back to San Diego many times over the now 25 years we've been together. Buying a house after the first of the year, but probably as coastal we can get. There's no way to find a house within San Diego itself, much less Hillcrest, where we'd have room for all

Circa 1995, we had an Isuzu Trooper II with 2.3 4 with the self-destruct head. I had just gotten back in touch with the parental units (long story) so visiting them for Christmas was imperative. Note that this meant driving from San Diego to Oklahoma, as we were also broke.

Oh god, this topic was written specifically for me.

Whatever they use in Italy. I ordered a new turn signal/headlight switch assembly for my Beta. It got to me in just 6 business days, zipping across the US like a Trump meme. But when it turned out to be for a Trevi (useless to me) returning it took WEEKS.

The Alfa timing belt reminds me of the Lancia Gamma's. It also drove the power steering pump. So, on a cold morning, you crank hard to get out of a tight street parking spot, and BOOM you have mangled your valvetrain. Nice!

Also looks exactly like the new Edge from the front. But doesn't appear to have changed in the rear... is it truly "completely redesigned"?

The cold start valve on the 1981 Lancia Beta coupe and Zagato. Bizarrely enough, it is not the same as the corresponding Fiat 124 of the same period, as the Fiat version sits at a 90 degree angle from the mounting tabs, making installation simple and quick. The Lancia version is in line with the tabs, making

Was it in the Granada they cut a "priceless" diamond in the backseat while driving on a cobblestone street?

What, no Toyota Camry being "grounded to the ground" yet?

Couldn’t agree more. This is why I tell all the Mopar fans who think Sergio is evil for not green-lighting a new Imperial: who exactly is going to sit in a crappy Dodge dealership rubbing elbows with a brodozer Ram owner and credit-challenged Avenger owner while they wait 2 hours for a $60 oil change on their $75K

Going to the Best of France and Italy show in Van Nuys today. It's a full 2 hours away, but with the bonus hour, it will only take me an hour to get there. Right? Let's hope the bearings in my Beta are up to it.

By "traveling" I'll assume you're driving, so what I'm really curious about is what are you seeing along your route to foster such thoughts as these...

I'm sorry, did anyone - anyone at all - ever really think the EB110 was pretty? EVER?
