In case it wasn't clear from my post (and upon re-reading it I realize it might not be) I loved that show too. Really hoping we get to at least see season 3 - though I'll probably buy the box set anyway.

Why am I not surprised? Any country that can produce The Almighty Johnsons can certainly consider this normal.

I'm so desensitized anymore that I'm more curious about what he's driving than what meds he's on/not on.

Thank you, it was bugging me that I couldn't ID the car.

Actually, it was the removable rear seats that allowed it to be a light truck for the EPA. That really had nothing to do with whether it’s a “good” usable car or not. And the reason they wanted it to be a light truck was that its fuel economy brought their truck overall rating UP, not that it allowed them to somehow

See, I knew someone would throw this up here, and you’re totally wrong. The PT Cruiser was a HUGE success. Its rear suspension was innovative, allowing a flat load floor, and the original interior was great - especially the reconfigurable parcel shelf. Plus it was a sensible evolution of the Neon platform into

The four door Type 3 notchback has always been my favorite VW museum car. I also regret not visiting the Karmann museum before their demise... I understand it was dispersed.

Didn't I mention I have a Lancia? Physician, heal thyself!

Don't get me wrong, I have all kinds of respect for you. It's kind of like me watching Hoarders as a way not to wind up on the show... "there but for the grace" and all that.

That was easy....

Dear god, I am terrified of this bride. I am planning my wedding right now, and trying to figure out the wording for "we don't really want gifts, please - and know that does not mean we want money instead" (as the rejected-first-florist-candidate assumed).

How would I spec thee? Simple: Fiat 124 Sport Coupe.

No. Unless you’re trying to make a funny video, you never start by having them push on the clutch.

I think it really is the proportion that's the problem. The back end is set so much higher than the front end, and the length is too short to resolve the difference happily. The rear doors have to do all the visual work, and they just can't.

You realize that the two door never existed, right? That the Eldorado was the de facto two door Seville?

Ya know, I have a similar experience every time I go to a FLAPS and say I have a Lancia. They squint at me for a moment, then say "OH you mean lan-CEE-ya".

There’s an episode (can’t find a clip to prove this, but trust me) where the Mystery Machine overheats and they open THE REAR to find the RADIATOR.

Then pray tell where this magical new platform you speak of sprang from, whole and fully formed, as if from Zeus’ forehead.

May I direct you to the Allpar page explaining exactly why they are LX based? You may argue "new platform" but I think "new architecture" is more accurate. Yes, their front suspension is bespoke Maser but the rest - including switchgear, infotainment, electrical structure and engine block - is courtesy of Mopar. http:/
