Isn't this an Encore encore? So a 'luxury' version already exists...

The second generation Isuzu Impulse. As a Geo Storm, you saw them everywhere, especially in midwest college town's sorority row. But unlike the first gen, I can't recall every seeing the Isuzu variant beyond a showroom.

Don't forget that VW cursed the early Rabbit with ignition-interlocks that disabled the starter unless you had fastened the safety belt.

Also, some time later, BMW Z1

Best part of this story: 1 less Camry

I've seen a parking lot full of Codas in San Jose just a month or so ago. It's on Monterey Road, a couple of blocks from Chick Fil A. Had to have been those 50 driveable ones. Last time I went by, there was netting around the chainlink fence, but they still appeared to be there.

So this iteration of the ZF 9 speed doesn't have The Dial?

How long until the front end has no discernible sheet metal and is just a gaping maw?

I keep forgetting what the difference is between this and the Edge.

Yeah, well - all I can see is this:

Except that Frua is rumored to have been quite involved in the Volkswagen Type 34 and I don't see any similarity, maybe due to elapsed time between the two designs.

Did no one notice this was directed by Michael Kidd? It's a miracle they don't dance out of that Firebird!

Yeah, thanks, I get that - but my point is that FCA has continually dropped its mix of fleet sales while Ford and GM don't. Margins aside, fleet sales are a health barometer - if retail sales drop, fleet sales can artificially prop up the overall numbers.

Do you even know what their fleet sales are? It's 17% right now, among the lowest going.

The Cross-Ram Mopar engines. Many variations on the theme, from De Soto's Ram Charge to Plymouth's Golden Commando, but Dodge claims the prize with their D500 Long Ram.

Wow! Their interior looked pretty spectacular. Can't wait to see the recreation.

The Maserati Biturbo may not have been the absolute plushest, but that voluptuous interior was such a shock as compared to the simple, taut exterior lines. It's like opening a tract home in Iowa and finding an Italian boutique.
