Eww, same thing happened with this girl on my soccer team in middle school. She got pregnant at 12, her parents sent her to her village in Mexico, where she married the guy that got her pregnant. I think he was 27 and she never came back.

When I was in 10th grade, one of my classmates dropped out to get married. I ran into her more than 20 years later. She was divorced, with a few kids of her own. She said she wished someone could’ve talked her out of that nonsense. Her mother had to sign for her to marry that idiot.

If every detail of this story makes you sick to your stomach, let’s pool our resources and build a spaceship to another planet. Downside: we might all die a horrible freezing death in the void of space or blow up on the launching pad. Upside: no more of this shit.

When I was in high school, a girl in my freshman gym class was married. Apparently her mother had found out that she was sleeping with some 20something dude the summer before high school started and insisted that they get married or she’d have him arrested. The girl seemed cool with it at the time, and we were all in

Or a meteor. I’m not super-picky.

We are so overdue for a plague

“God said ‘Let there be Highlighter’ and he saw that it was good”

Even if it wasn’t a property that has a built in audience (half of which probably are pissed off by the casting choices) the whole “marquee name” bullshit is just that.

No, it’s a manga that became an anime (that was really well known and running on Cartoon Network) that spawned a dozen different media properties. Either way though, the audience for Ghost in the Shell pretty much falls into two catagories: 1) does not care if ScarJo is the lead 2) is angry that ScarJo is the lead.

When his term is over, I just want him to go around the world having thoughtful conversations like this about, essentially, just life with all kinds of people. His the best global ambassador for just being a reflective, rational, decent person that I can imagine.

UGH. Pranks that are either physically or emotionally hurtful are NEVER FUNNY. What the fuck is wrong with these people.

“Men are afraid their gifts will be returned. Women are afraid they’ll get stabbed 20 times.”

Yeah, that really wasn’t fair to Tiana. Ariel didn’t spend half the film as a fish. Well, she might have been mute for half of it.

Yup, this. While I’m okay with the live action remakes and still enjoy most of what Disney puts out, their movies of late really lack the life and excitement of their old films. Like, I’m waiting for the next Lion King or the next great princess film... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting...

Man, Disney needs some new innovators. It just seems like they are coasting on former glory right now.

That’s what i don’t get. How can people who care so much about a fan be so strong?

Tears reading, not even going to watch the video.

She was actually awarded no points for the kicks. She got three points for just embarrassing that other kid. It’s a moral victory.

This is a bit misleading. Cleveland High IS racially integrated, about 60/40. East side is 99%black. The real segregation is along income lines.

She’s a full scholarship student from Kentucky, and a black woman at the School of Engineering, a place where there are not a ton of people who are a) black or b) black women. At 19, I’m assuming she’s also a freshman. SEAS is pretty cut-throat and Columbia undergrad is also not exactly known for their advising
