$10k is a much greater gap than I thought, but I wonder if you could have closed gulf with an earlier 996. You’re right about getting a newer platform/interior. Looks are subjective, and I disagree there, but the styling is pretty close.

My local downtown charger was *always* ICE’d on big holiday events, which was annoying for smaller range EVs who actually depended on it to get home. I’m friends with city officials and worked with them on establishing a fine, they didn’t want to scare away tourists or create ripples, turns out a sign with threat of a

We need volume sales for small EVs to work, that means automakers need profit margins close to what Tesla is getting. They’re making 3-5x more per car than any other manufacturer. Everyone needs to tidy up their supply chains and keep as much in house as possible. We’ll see.

You’re living the dream buddy! Also, thanks for confirming my 12-year-old self is correct about 911s, even if its just a 996. A 993 would be ideal, but until the kids are out of the house (and I sell a kidney), that’s not happening. I settled for a Tesla M3, and its a good compromise for a daily kid hauler.

Exactly, maybe I should have qualified by saying US market.

Damn, Hyundai/Kia/Genesis is the only company(ies technically) that I see eating Tesla’s lunch. Everyone else is still dinking around.

Absolutely, the early Tesla S had some issues that I’m sure you’re aware of: motor/battery (especially P85D), MCU failure (free fix), door handles.. and a few other little things. From what I understand, these have mostly been worked out, and most post 2016+ Model S/X and Model 3/Y owners have few issues. Like all

The “silver bullet theory”: Its just a beer fridge.

Never driven either, so I’ll take your word. Since I was a kid, I’ve wanted a 911, and I don’t think a Cayman would do, personally.

Tool box w/ stickers? I see an impact. Clearly, I have nothing to do this morning.

Along the same vein, who’s not just buying a 996 for similar money? I love the Cayman, and when new it was a cheap 911.. For the same reason why you should get an S, the 996 price gap is even closer.

Very interesting. Like you said, maybe finding an effective pulse requires too much time/effort for the untrained. A faint heart beat wont show up on the wrist, you’ll need to check the neck since its closer to the heart and has a stronger beat. It can be tricky to find the pulse, I remember needing several attempts

Just reread my Red Cross manual, says to always check pulse before initiating CPR. Here’s what we use, its the CPR/AED Guide for Professional Rescuers (may be different for civilian CPR/AED?).

An amendment: American Red Cross training (which is what EMTs, life guards take) says if patient has *definitive pulse*, not to do CPR, only rescue breaths. If they have a good pulse, a chest compression can send them into cardiac arrest. Checking for pulse is part of every training I’ve run into before starting CPR.

Correct, its simple for FA/bystanders, just like you said: Not breathing > CPR, but yell out for someone to grab an AED and call 911, and if one arrives *use it always*, regardless of pulse.

They rarely have issues, and when they do they get blown out of proportion because: Its a Tesla. Also, no, your mechanic works on Hondas and Chevys. Teslas go to an authorized Tesla shop, which is most likely not where you go.

Your mechanic has *never* seen a Tesla, lets be honest here.

Says a guy who’s never read their balance sheets.

And of course Jeep Wranglers used to have generic trailer stop lights.

pics or it didn’t happen
