This brings me to a grip: Why do automakers cheap out and do auto open/close on *one* window. I’ve been in plenty of cars that have auto drivers, but not passenger, while some include auto on all 4. Does this NASA inspired technology cost so damn much that it must be rationed as to not propel the MSRP into the

So you’re saying its an incredibly slow window switch? 45 seconds to open the damn thing? I can do the same with some quick flicks on every can I’ve owned in the last 15 years, albeit with ever-so-slightly less accuracy.

Never have a kid to make your spouse happy, in the end neither of you will be. A kid will grow up with a distorted view of a functioning family. I usually dont give advice unless asked, but this one’s obvious.

Nothing wrong with being childless, not saying its for everyone. Seriously though, kids are suicidal little crumb-crunchers. There are definitely negligent parents out there, but I’d say most try their hardest to not kill their children. Lack of sleep does strange things to your brain, and despite your greatest

Sir, this is a Wendys.

Bwaaahahaha, clearly you’re childless. Kids are slippery little SOBs. They jump out of randomly, without warning. Backup cams are way more useful at home in the driveway than at parking lots. Also, sleep deprived parents make mistakes. Speak only of things you know about.

Its not just mine, I’m a teacher and keeping

When I saw the headline “You Must Pick One” and then that Traverse taking up two spaces, I thought this was for sure going to be a story on not being an ass-hat.

Maybe you have no fucking idea what you’re talking about. Have you ever tried to use logic or reasoning with a 2-3 year old? They’re... how do I put this?? ..too young.

Maybe kids can learn to be taller so you can see them over the rear bumper.

Its a slice of their buyers sure. I see them all over here in the Midwest.

7 inch difference here, the struggle is real.

The snark is strong with this one.. I hear you, but the MSRP didn’t budge much through the life of the R53, so you would have to go from 2006-08 (R52 convertible ended in 08, hardtop R53 in 06). In 2006 $18,000 would be $24,491.96 today, which is still a deal.

Underwear?

As a lifelong MINI enthusiast, the quirk doesn’t make up for the range. The value just isn’t there, unless you have a second car. There may be a niche city dweller who this will work for but as a niche car to begin with, its destined for failure.

I made a BMW i3 work for a year until I got stuck in the dead of winter.

Not the first gen R53, the MSRP was $18k for an S if I recall, if you didn’t check every box. They’ve only gotten bloated and expensive in the 2nd gen and newer. I would argue they were a bargain for an entry level autox or track car. You could totally track a stock S with the right tires.

I define a good system by how good it sounds at low volumes. Some cheap systems rely on turning volume to 3/4 before the bass thumps. My HK systems always sound amazing for hiphop, jazz, talk, rock at any volume, which is usually 1/3.

I only buy top trim used cars, the cost between the trims is narrowed greatly.

-Nav if the car has carplay/AA.

Anyone who shares their car with their spouse will disagree with you on the memory feature. Bonus points for changing the tilt/telescoping steering wheel and side mirrors with the seat memory button (Hyundai Veracruz). Its the little things that makes a car feel special.

This is a bad take - there’s nothing better than heated seats and a toasty cabin on a 15f day. When you say you live in a “cold state”, what are we talking? As a native Californian who moved to Chicago, heated seats are MANDATORY. Some cars have warmer than others, and my BMW i3 could be set in degrees, all the way up
