How long do you imagine rural and suburban routes being? Cant be longer than our current lowest priced EV on the market today. The new Bolt goes 260 miles and starts at $32k, and thats pretty old tech.

Installing EV charging stations at every post office sounds like a really good way to stimulate the US economy.

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation. When you say rural routes are too long, how long would you say? The Bolt goes 238 miles and it was developed 5+ years ago. Surely that tech would be cheap enough and long enough for a rural route, no?

Thats what I figured. I lost a few dollars today, I thought Workhorse had it locked up.

Its already suited for 100% EVs. Lower maintenance, lower fuel cost, slightly higher entry cost.

Yes, that would be a win. No one said its EVs within cities/burbs and ICE in rural routes. There’s nothing about what % will be ICE vs EV.

So much for the EV fleet that would save so much money over the next decade+. Yes, I read the part that said some would be EVs, but what %? This will be a major fail if its not a significant number. Am I reading this right? They’re planning on removing ICEs and converting more to EVs down the road or just updating EV…

I want to love this idea, but it seems too good to be true. Synthetic things are based on what? Petroleum, right? How in the world can you burn anything petroleum based and have it be zero emission? How can you burn anything without having smoke, therefor a carbon-based byproduct?

The CVT was the main reason I dont have a Forester in my garage (outgoing model). Did the 6-speeds have the same reliability issues? I couldn’t get X-Mode on 6-speed, which allows you to sort of brake your way into locking up the diff. Its quite effective, but the old Subbies were perfectly capable.
