Former i3 owner. My BMW dealership only had a 7.2kw charger which was always blocked by the loaner car, which is why I always went to the Chevy dealer, lol.

Former i3 owner. My BMW dealership only had a 7.2kw charger that was always blocked by the loaner car, which is why I always went to Chevy’s 25kw DCFC, lol.

PS: DCFC can be as low as 25kw, like at most Chevy dealerships for Bolts. They’re slower, but still plenty fast to be useful. You’re correct that 200kw is out of the question, but the more you drive EVs, the more you realize 6kw is useless.

Larger batteries would solve that, you could be the 3rd-4th guy and still have plenty of juice left, but even if it was drained and there’s still daylight out, you can draw 7kw in real time (which is what my system makes in full sun). If this is just an emergency charger, I guess L2 would work to get you back to

“A solar charger isn’t going to put up the 800 volt 200 kW charging numbers that Electrify America can shove into a Taycan”

Maybe not Kia/Hyundai, but perhaps another automaker? I dont think it means its a no-go, just no partner yet.

If one person watches the ad and gets vaccinated, then its worth it. Would you rather they did nothing? I dont understand the rage here.

The story I read ahead of the game said they were not running ANY ads, not sure why they still did. Either way, they donated time. Settle down, I voted for Bernie too ;)

I posted this elsewhere in response, but here you go again:

There is no Easter Bunny, its just a guy in a suite

Hey, a sailboat!

No no no.. If you do touchless, its just a stop-gap before you can get a proper hand wash. If you use a chamois it’ll just rub in the remaining dirt, and there WILL be dirt after even the best touchless. Please stop doing this so I can sleep at night, its hard enough as it is.

Touchless my friend, touchless. Your fears are justified and I share them.

Is it bad that I still like my Shark (Freestyle) watch from 7th grade? Anyone else grow up in Southern California in the 90s?

I think its more that people with money like expensive things.

In other news: water is wet.

A company donated $5.5 million to save lives.

I like Budweiser’s ad campaign the best this year: No ads, and they’re donating the millions it would have cost to help with the Covid-19 response.

At a quick glance when comparing EVs, you dont know if 325wh/mi is more efficient than 4 miles/kw. Also, MPGe is a whole other hot mess.

The only difference being that all US cars use MPG in the car’s computer estimate. L/100km is more accurate for measuring consumption (same as kw/mi), I just wish every car’s estimator *in the US* was the same. My Focus Electric used kw/mi, same with Tesla, the rest use miles/kwh.

Its super annoying how some EV makers use wh/mi and others do mi/kwh.
