I appreciate that, but this was only 2 stories ago, and it was in December. Thats not a long track record of responsible journalism. The last story was the first to not publish names.

Well, I edited my comment. A Dec ‘19 story names the new record holders, the time, etc.. I’ve read many stories where they both condemn, but also give recognition to the law breakers, which perpetuates bad behavior.

Here, a December ‘19 story, they name the new record holders, my point stands.

I stand corrected, I just reread the latest story and it didn’t publish the names of the new record holders, just acknowledged the record. The name published was a Cannonball Run insider and former record holder, which is who I thought was the new record holder.

Jalopnik is taking the balanced approach, I take it

It does when you also publish their names, time, and state they have the new record, along with R&T.

This is literally right below the story you just read and commented on, which was published in April of this year. I’m sure there’s more..

What are you talking about? They just ran a story in March.

Yeah yeah yeah, but Jalopnik continues to run stories on Cannonball records, which basically glorifies the idiocy that this story condemns. At least be consistent.

“Adequate is enough” isn’t the most sexy sales pitch, I wouldn’t take up advertising if I were you. EV buyers all have different reasons for owning them: Some just like to be early adopters in new tech, others want to save the planet. Some want to save money.. Now they’re capturing the muscle-heads with HP numbers.

I’m sure you were among the first to complain about the lock-down protesters storming the capitol building in Michigan, brandishing guns outside the Gov’s office, right? Furious, you were about the law breaking.

Haven’t all of previous EVs been econo-boxes though? Today you can buy a Bolt EV, e-Golf, Leaf, Niro EV, BMW i3, Kona EV, Ionic EV, etc... They all sip electrons and have plenty of performance. My i3 is way faster than my Cooper S JCW I had before it (especially to 0-45 MPH), though the handling isn’t nearly as good.

In due time.. R&D costs will come down, and in a few years when Ford recoups, then we’ll all see the middle ground affordable/performance EV.

Alternate take: Super HP EVs will allow EVs to be considered performance cars and not econo-boxes and will appeal to a more vast audience, therefor bring EVs to the masses. Not every (or many at all) EVs will have monster performance like this, nor are many able to afford it. These crazy HP EVs will be as available as

I remember when intelligence agencies put out a warning to Americans that (foreign) terrorists would most likely start using vehicles to commit acts of terror on a much smaller scale in impromptu attacks, I would never have guessed that it would come from fellow Americans.

And to everyone saying “what choice did the

I like BMW i3's take on the screen vs physical button balance.

Those prices dont seem too much better than normal ‘17 i3s from what I recall seeing a few months ago. ‘17 would be the year to get, with the larger battery. LAPD prices might be ~1K less, which is cheap, but they were cheap because of depreciation to begin with.

Thats a good looking greenhouse, and I love the chrome on the rear glass.. and I’m not even a chrome guy.

Thats a good looking greenhouse.

Its hard to see proportions from this photo, which is the only one I’ve seen of the Azera. I’ll give ‘er a google.
