And even talking about, for that matter.

It’s almost as if Jalopnik writers are aware that hate posts on Tesla and Musk bring more clicks and therefore ad revenue.

Elon Erik’s energy is very much that of someone who enjoys sending emails posting articles to all of his employees us readers, which is just to say that his real skills aren’t doing anything in particular or making any kind of product or even dreaming up big ideas, but talking and hyping.

Hey look! Another Tesla hate post!

Yes - the combined rating is... 20mpg. That’s the way the EPA ratings work for plug-in hybrids. They calculate a range on EV-only, and then give it a fuel economy figure for when it is running on gas as a hybrid.

Guy with Xterra slowly slithers away in silence.......

Oh please, your truck has enough torque to move the moon, so it can drive to the store on its pinky and you also don’t have a flat grill or windshield. Aerodynamics are the biggest reason boxy 4x4s get shit milage and the jeep gets better mileage than its counterparts.

its not a full BEV not a 75 MPG hybrid, so Jalopnik is going to throw an utter hissy fit.

“One probably also gets less than 21 miles of range when you take this thing off-road, but, again, that is not what this is for, though I would love to hear the results of someone who has tested the Wrangler 4xe in, say, Moab. Maybe at the very least you can turn it into some kind of party trick.”

I’d argue that a human driver would be likely to likely to have a more emotional response to the tailgating and too close pass. Their response isn’t going to be to slow down to allow ample room for the BMW driver to pass on the right. (That doesn’t even make sense. Someone riding your bumper and aggressively passing

Dude was not camping. Only 7 seconds pass between him passing the white truck and the BMW encroaching in his lane.

We don’t know if they were camping. When the clip starts they’re clearly passing the pickup truck appropriately.

We don’t have passing laws in California that I am aware of, although I’m sure there’s a recommendation somewhere that says “please move over after passing”. An officer might, and I say this very loosely, give you a warning, and that’s it. No CHP officer would write a ticket for passing on the right unless you’re

I think that part of this is that - through experience - humans have learned to pick out signs of a bad/aggressive driver. If I see a moron driving like that rushing up on me, I’d probably move out of the lane if I had time or I would ease off the gas/tap the brakes when he goes to cut me off. Because I can see his

I feel like you and I watched a very different video given your description, and there is a lot of victim blaming going on.

camping is a pretty weak word, but I concede your point. I think that he may have been making a legit pass. I know that even if I’m doing 80 on I15 there always seems to be some turd burglar coming up on me at 95 out of nowhere and getting right up behind me in the left lane, even if I’m using it to pass slower

This is actually a setting the driver can enable/disable depending on how much of an asshole they are.  Autopilot does have a setting to automatically move out of the passing lane.

i think camping is a strong word. the tesla had just passed that shitty white work truck and was clearly gaining on the cars that were in front of the shitty work truck.

Agreed. It’s hard to tell from the video (it always it) but it certainly looks like the BMW might have hit the Tesla. Negative points to possibly sitting in the left lane but I think what AP did was fine.

Eh, sounds like victim blaming a touch. Things we know:
