Is Jalopnik still a site for automotive enthusiasts? Am I missing something?

There’s also a more constructive way to address those issues as well. Well, maybe not the hoodlines on trucks. Big vehicles are just gonna be more dangerous to pedestrians. But it’s easy to acknowledge that its fuel economy is brutal if that’s something you care about when buying a pickup without actively alienating…
I can’t believe I read that whole piece shitting on Thanksgiving (and fall in general). I mean just what the fuck.
Plus everything written about the actual truck says it’s a hell of a lot more than just “fine.” This thing’s a beast.
If anyone wants a cheery review, look no further.
Because 7.9% of the eligible work force not having a job sounds WAAAAAAAAAAAY fucking better than ‘more than a quarter of the eligible workforce in this country doesn’t have a job.”
Look at Mr. Bradley with his Porsche and his wagon and his camper. Doesn’t he know towing that camper causes low fuel economy and hurts the enviornment?
The bureu of labor and statistics has it at 7.9%.
C&D ran it at 3.7, I think tire variance is at play here.
Yay! Politics in sports! Politics in car culture! Politics at Thanksgiving! Politics in technology! Politics at work! Politics at restaurants! We NEED more misery! We NEED more division! We NEED more fear! NO happiness allowed, and if you do allow it, pepper in just enough gloom and doom to make something, ANYTHING…
It looks like the linked article goes by % of people who aren’t making a “living wage.” Not by number of people on unemployment.
I had one for a rental and I quite liked the rotary shifter. Sure, I never got used to it, but once I realized “Oh yeah, turn knob!” it was simple and intuitive to use. I liked it. Way better than Mercedes’, BMW’s, and other car companies takes on the console or column mounted shifters they’ve come up with in recent…
Plus, I’m not sure what makes this “tone deaf in the face of the reality of 2020,” that doesn’t also apply to 95% of vehicles over $50,000 (pick some arbitrary number where a vehicle stops being a necessity and starts being a lavish expense).
The real unemployment rate in America is over 26 percent
Not to mention higher vehicle grille heights are killing pedestrians, though not nearly as many as will be killed by global climate change.
But, everything that makes it impressive, also makes it feel tone deaf in the face of the reality of 2020.
Another snarky and negative Jalopnik review of a truck.
I really don’t get the hate for a dial that saves so much console space. You only use it twice, maybe 3 times on every drive, anywhere, what is there to get used to? Turn it to drive and go, that’s about it.
Just read the Car and Driver article it seemed the TRX was a lil better on the road. Actually it kinda contradicts this article on road manners.
I expect this is actually as good of a daily driver as the Raptor.
