I can’t speak for anyone else, but my experience with Tesla was the opposite. If you’re not paying cash, in full, up front, the process is opaque and frustrating, where there’s all this back and forth that takes a few minutes for the F&I guy at a dealer to do, but for some reason takes days or even weeks for Tesla to

It’s not really immune. Even the dual row bearing can fail, leading to the same catastrophic results as the later single row bearings. If it has a new bearing, that’s just less likely for now.

The Turbo model with the “Mezger” engine uses a plain bearing, similar to a rod or main bearing, which is lubricated with

I’m not at home to take a photo right now, but in the garage I have a 2022 Polestar 2 and a 1999 Porsche Boxster.

Maybe not if you live out in the sticks, and you’re doing your monthly target run. I guess if you live out in the sticks, something more truck-like would probably serve you better for reasons unrelated to trunk size, though.

Anecdotally, it really seems like the pandemic caused a lot of people to just not give any fucks at all about driving safely. I drove to the office earlier this week and witnessed at least one egregious moving violation per minute. People just not even slowing down for stop signs, running red lights, obvious no-look,

Is that really a second generation?  I was always under the impression that the changes they made were more of a mid-cycle refresh, similar to what Ford did with the Mustang in 2018 (revised engine, slightly different bumper, probably some other details).

In 2005, this thing was to upper middle class white people as the Tesla Model S is to Indian IT guys. If you had one of these, you were THE MAN at your local baptist Bible megachurch. If you had one for your wife to drive, you were THE FUCKING MAN (because you yourself probably had a dually F-350) at the local baptist

Wait, a Cayman was a disappointment? Have you considered that the problem might be your expectations, and not the cars?

$15K is an overly optimistic asking price for this Spyder, but if your Mark 2 is clean and stock-ish, it might not be so optimistic for that car.

Regarding that last one, where’s the “equity based” justification? It’s literally not even mentioned in the part of the article you block-quoted.

Actually, that’s not true. They also have some performance software upgrades that you can buy after the fact for certain models.  Or at least, they did a year or two ago.

Man, how embarrassing would it be if she’d said no?

Huh?  What show?

Volvo mass produces an engine that makes as much as 326 horsepower (in the Polestar 1) out of a two liter four cylinder. The exact number varies, depending on which model you’re looking at, but the lowest I think I’ve seen was 308.

Maybe I should clarify that my experience is exclusively with unibody cars. It’s probably not such a problem with a truck, where you have a bit more flexibility with placing it. The problem I have with mine (the 5000 TL model) is that it’s about 6" too short to comfortably reach the lift points on my Polestar 2, but

I actually own a Polestar 2. Supposedly, it’s the cheapest car Polestar ever intends to sell, and all their subsequent models are supposed to be way more expensive.

I have one. I like it a lot, although I should have bought the version they show with a Model S on it. The “Standard” length model isn’t long enough for cars bigger than Miata size without some extra parts. I’d advise anyone thinking of buying one to get the longest model they can fit under their shortest car.

I see tons of apparently new-ish Chargers driving around all the time. It might not kill them to update it with some more efficient engine options, but I can’t really imagine a case for discontinuing it if they still sell plenty of them.

I was all primed to say ask what you guys were smoking when you reviewed the C40, under the assumption that it’s basically the same as my Polestar 2 (which is no sports car, but definitely better than “Meh.”).

Why would thieves need to track the car? If they had access to it for long enough to hide an Air Tag on it, why not just go ahead and steal it from the mall parking lot?
