We do have a new IP in the works (the team is meeting and reviewing it as I type this). So far so good, and despite being a ways out the buzz in the studio is definitely building.

I started my PoE playthrough this morning. It's really good, and definitely makes me reminisce for the time when we had a simpler isometric view, one platform, etc. Based on the response it's getting, it's another serious reminder that people want and love games like this.
That's really nice to hear, thank you.
Yeah I'm the same as Mark - it's REALLY hard to manage multiple social presences AND do my job at the same time. Good point though - maybe I will focus on the BSN for the upcoming Mass Effect game.
Well there's always budgets (or "limited resources") - money, time, and I think most critically, people's energy. A game like DAI is big on all of those examples, especially because so much of the team was learning through development. Learning Frostbite. Learning about open world designs and mechanics. Learning what…
Thanks for the kind words! All I can say is that I'm continually impressed that our writers and developers just create characters like Dorian. There's never a "Hey, here's a key demographic we need to hit" meeting or plan. They just create them, and everyone else says, "That's great". I feel very fortunate to work in…
The negativity was very hard on the studio. Places online that had been safe, tolerant, and open became very difficult to go to for all of us, and a few people especially so. It was honestly terrible, and was one of the most draining experiences I could imagine.
In the end, everyone is entitled to their opinions.…
Thanks - yeah we feel the same way.
Well there's always hope :)
Both Mark and Mike worked on Jade Empire, so they're advocates for it in the studio (so is Matt Goldman, DAI's Art Director). I worked on it too!
Our plate is awfully full right now, but the idea to go back to the universe does come up pretty regularly. Mark and I spent a solid two hours in…
Thanks!
Any movement that tries to exclude people from playing or creating games for whatever reason is not in the spirit of what a dynamic, creative industry is about.
My understanding is this was with Nvidia to investigate. Hold on and I'll ask again.
Yep, I knew it was coming. I gave an answer up above (I think it's above at least!)
I think every developer brings influences to the creative process. Part of the challenge of making a game as big as DAI is that you have a lot of folks putting those influences into their work, and folks like Mark and Mike have to work with all those and help craft a cohesive whole. Over time it smooths out, but…
Great question - I was expecting it :)
Jaws of Hakkon is a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and PC (through Origin). This approach allowed for a lot of support from Microsoft and Origin in launching the DLC, so did have that benefit for the team, and we appreciate the partnership. However, as a timed exclusive, it is…
