Doctor Who was virtually unknown in the States for at least another decade, though. (And originally the Crusher kid was going to be a girl, which would have been a lot more interesting and progressive, but Gene Wesley Roddenberry thought otherwise.)
Well said. It’s so ironic how a franchise so manifestly about the future has been trapped in its own past since 2002. It boggles the mind, really. For the life of me I can't comprehend what makes the powers that be so eager to retread what's long gone. All it does is create continuity issues. I just can't wrap my head…
Star Trek Federation really sounds like it could have been interesting. I’ve always thought that the way for Star Trek to move forward is by actually moving forward: no reboots, no going back in time, always be set in a future period than previous series.
Janeway will always be my favorite captain. There. I’m out of that particular closet, now. Get me some goddamned coffee.
You misspelled Seven of Nine and the EMH :) But yeah, Kate Mulgrew and Tim Russ were great when they had good material to work with.
The idea that anyone would whine about that with Star Trek seems crazy. The show’s been at least nominally about diversity since Day 1. And while Voyager had a lot of problems, Janeway and Tuvok were pretty much the highlights of the show.
Imagine if white people were the minority on the bridge crew...
I’m saying mummified otter, though the legs seem a bit long. That slender body and snaky spine say otter to me.
To be fair, while great in its day but minus the nostalgic, Dragon ball in todays standard is never really that good, and gone down hill after Goku grew up changine from adventure to pure battle manga, which random power up after random power up like Bleach now
Dude... watch the show... Goku Black isn’t even Goku...
To each his own, but I’d argue that Star Wars is largely adventure and full of stock characters, whereas Star Trek probed deeper into what it means to be human. Doesn’t make one better than the other; I love adventure like SW and Indiana Jones and Conan, etc. I’d only take issue with your assertion that SW wins “on…
Different does not equal cutting edge though. There’s a lot to like about what they’ve been doing with Berserk, but cutting edge is defined as “being at the latest or most advanced stage of development; innovative or pioneering.” The CG work for Berserk does not deserve that statement. It is nowhere near the levels of…
4 resounding yes’s followed by...Berserk. Animation that cuts...through my soul and rips it out.
Berserk... “Cutting-edge animation”... (T_T)
Can I get a two for one deal!
It was pretty mercurial and I’m sorry if that mars the article. I didn’t mean to unearth bad feelings.
Trump... but then
So if you say, had a time machine, you could could go back in time and study Venus, and while studying we could pick up some of their martial arts, say like Aikido.
