That's not why the US doesn't make it legal - that they don't know how to control it. They don't make it legal because it would put drug companies out of a lot of business. Marijuana is linked to helping with nausea, anxiety, symptoms of AIDS and kemotherapy, and tons more. All of these without side effects! No cancer…

The headline of this story reminds me of an incident in elementary school; like 5th grade. We were done taking a test and I was playing with my pencil. I'd put it on my shoe, kick up to send the pencil in the air, it would land on the tip and I'd catch it on the eraser.

You make it sound as if Iran is the only country with terrorists and people with extreme beliefs. There are lots of other countries with terrorists as well, but don't seem to be making a fuss over them.
