That used to be true.  It’s not anymore.  The Camaro, ATS, CTS, etc beg to differ.

Permanent magnet motors induce a current in the stator at high RPMs. if you can get it down to get the RPMs down, you can make it way more efficient at high speed.

So, a chevy volt with a class I hitch for dump run trailer?  I commute 70 miles a day, take road trips all the time.  Charge at home and work (but mostly at work just because I can).  Only buy gas when doing long trips.

As the owner of an 88 fiero and a '16 volt, yup.

Second only to the volvo 240.  Miatas were still 3 years off.

Now playing

Welcome to the Fiero Cult! Excellent job getting this back on the road.. Between THE fiero forum and the various facebook groups, there are so many of us ready to help with the most obscure issues, it is really a fun car to play with.

Dated a girl in college that had one of these, always liked it. The swappable rear hatch was an amazing idea..

That’s true, but I de-badge everything I own.  Hate those stuck on letters..

This is a terrible idea..  makes it a PITA to wax, an body work becomes a nightmare. As a Fiero owner, I’m WELL aware of the embossed badging..  Left headlight door, and rear bumper both had it.

Better off using Redox Flow Batteries for faster swap outs/refueling.  Way easier to pump out and in electrolyte than swap whole battery packs.

I agree completely. As seems to be the new norm: Fairly ok ideas, horrible execution. Somebody in the white house needs to take that guy’s twitter account away pronto.. I will say however, that I believe that China has more to lose than the US...  We were very much propelling their development for quite a while, both

I do believe that most of the manufactured hatred stems from Trump hatred..  This entire mess started with Clinton granting China “Most favored nation” status and entry into the WTO, which, as part of the agreement, is supposed to guarantee equal bi-directional trade between parties...  Something that has NEVER

Space is cool, and space exploration is awesome. These ideas, however, are not feasible. Let me list a few examples: 1) Miles long glass + unmitigated micro meteoroids = eventual painful death.  2) solar panels degrade.  How the hell do you manufacture new ones in the middle of nowhere?   3)  We can’t even feed people

Oh man, I wish more people got this reference..  I also wish I could give you more than one star.

Full disclosure: I’m a union member in the public sector.

They do, however, win in one huge area: they're perfectly balanced in first and second order harmonics, and that's in addition to the fact that they have 7 main bearings.

Pouch batteries can actually handle HIGHER C loads, as the entire pouch is cooled, rather than the outside of the cells.

So, um, what happens when the jet flames out/shuts down in flight?  Most planes can be gliders without engines..  This not only loses thrust, but control..  Unless I’m missing something...

Take the star, I never knew that.  I know now and will always remember. Thanks.

Also bear in mind that there’s no power steering pump to spin, a 3 foot exhaust pipe, and cool air coming in all the time (radiator is up front).
