You might be on to something, this is the current mileage as listed in the ad:

All hail the PFF’ers.

If you’ve driven a 4th gen VW with the pushrod 2.0, imagine that with a big flywheel. It has 125hp and 140 lb/ft of torque. I drive mountain passes in 6th gear at 75mph in it, and the last 700 mile trip I just did managed 42.1MPG at freeway speeds with the AC on (and I wasn’t driving “fuel efficiently”). No regrets.

My buddy Damian did the same thing for a season.. Hilarious. He ended up taking the body back off as it was WAAAAY too heavy. Meet the Skideria Fauxrarri...

Have one, it sounds gravelly and mean, but smooth as butter. It’s amazing how little you can feel. That tiny turbo will over boost to 22psi, too, while still getting 45mpg at 75mph.

Can confirm. Bought a 17 focus with the 1.0 and a manual. Fun little gas sipper, but can’t imagine it with an auto. Too bad about the power shifts, the cars deserved better.

You put the top town and look over the header. XD <- convertible mustang owner.

I must be the only one, but I like the new front end. Hmm.. Oh well, I’ve always had weird taste... :) *glances at engine-swapped fiero in driveway*

Holy crap, I never knew this and am a long time Jalop. Thank you!

LOL, fellow fiero owner here, I swapped in an automatic steering column to get rid of this. :)

Yup, it is truly amazing how stout, compact, and reliable modern engines are.

Yeah, but using mass produced iron lumps, the pushrod GM is making at least 20% more torque / liter than the hand crafted mercedes engine anywhere on the torque curve. 72 ft lbs / liter at peak, and the curve is WAAAYY flatter.

No, it’s a 3 door with a hatch back. 2 doors on the passenger side, one door on the driver’s side.

Oh, do I feel your pain..

I have the same issue on the Mustang side. I bought a 2015 v6 auto convertible with 19k miles on it. I like the RWD, top down, and still have to ferry children around (so no miata..). It was a used rental, therefore I could afford it. It still drives very nicely, gets great mileage, and I’ve put 40k miles on it in the

I don’t care what engine they put in it. The asymmetrical door configuration blows up my OCD mind. It’s just wrong, and not fixable until they make it either a 2 door or a 4 door.

Came to post this. Left fulfilled.

There’s one thing that would make me buy an ev now: build a trailer that could act as a range extender for long trips. That’s it. Most of my driving is local, I love the torque and low nvh of EVs, but I do weekly 600 mile day trips and don’t feel like doubling my travel times for those.

Another tip: Always use the defrost setting (mixed with floor is good too). Keep the windshield warm, and it will prevent ice/snow/slush buildup while making sure the insides stay free from mouth-breather fog.

I’ve got 7k, and a miata you vouch for is available.. Could I, um, maybe have your mom’s number?
