Ok, so how does this impact resale values of TDI’s? will owners be entitled to anything as technically their cars are not legal to drive until reflashed? After reflashing, will the motors be less reliable? Will they get different mileage? Will the maintenance schedule change? Will the power numbers change? This will

Ok Cap’n Pedantic:

I put a 1998 series II 3800 GM engine into my Fiero. The bolts that hold the trans to the engine are metric. The bolts that hold the flywheel to the crank are 5/16”-18. Yup. Oh, the harmonic balancer bolt has SAE threads and a metric hex head.

DOOOOSHH

While it was “ruled?”
We live in a republic for now, law is made in the legislature, not in court. While the SCOTUS decision using the due process clause has caused waves, it still doesn’t make it LAW, it makes it INTERPRETATION. The LAW needs to be updated before the ambiguity will end. That’s my only point.

Using your own argument, the states then went on to ratify their constitutions. In this specific case, the KY state assembly was made aware of the coming issue BEFORE they recessed, and chose to do nothing about it. This created legal ambiguity for Ms. Davis, as she swore to uphold the KY state constitution when

She is following the sworn constitution of her state. As an elected official, she swore an oath to follow Kentucky law, and that’s what she’s doing. So, by your own quote, instead of sending her to prison for following the law she swore to uphold, change the state law to match the federal law (well, that’s tricky too,

Nowhere. Don’t do it. Change your mind and change your plans. The whole bay area is a cess-pool.

So, lemme get this straight: A group of psychotic trouble seeking bicyclists ride the wrong way up a multi lane road, and when one of them blocks a motorist and starts something, she tries to get away and then SHE’s the one at fault? You do know that cyclists have to follow the same traffic laws as cars, right?

Might have something to do with over half the exits being unusable..

95% of the people in WA live in ZIP codes where emissions requirements are required. Washington currently uses the CA emissions tests and guidelines, and has since 2009. In fact, if you buy a 2009+ non-CA emissions car into WA with less than 10k miles, good luck registering it. I wouldn’t mind safety inspections, but

Sure. The Spokane area is comfy like an old pair of jeans.. You might not brag about them, but they fit right and you keep coming back to them.

As a resident of Spokane (where this was filmed last month), I’m strangely proud of our crustiness right now. We’ve always been a working class town, but with weird humor, and this pretty much captures it.

That is so true... with everything so integrated, if you want a better stereo you give you your blinker sounds.. :)

That’s not really true.. If you pull the fuse for it, your car works just fine. If you pull the antenna for the 4g radio, your car works just fine. Lots of ways to disable it without screwing with your car.

I believe that Dave Ramsey is right. I also have a car loan, because I wanted a new car. His advice is centered around the principle that debt makes you a slave, and that’s true. BUT, I’d rather be a slave to a $270 / month payment and not worry because I have a 100000 mile warranty, while enjoying good mileage,

I used to ride that road all the time on my BMW when I lived in Modesto. Freaky cool road. Then you come up on that observatory and you’re all of a sudden in civilization again. Nice run.

The first thing they taught me was CPR is only successful like 5% of the time, so don’t feel bad if it doesn’t work.
