Basically it's all the ingredients of rock, arranged in a way that doesn't sound like rock. Anything "post-" is about subverting the expectations of a genre, and as a result, not very useful for describing what something sounds like.

The Dears sneak by on a technicality, I take it.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS IN THAT CHART
I'm the same way. It's technically proficient and catchy but I just don't feel anything from it. The singing is unremarkable in a way that drags down the songwriting.
Eventually, he is cradling his dying identical twin in a swamp while singing "So Happy Together".

@avclub-cb0e59b8f769a8698b9f7154dd8809b5:disqus Did the episode open with him sternly giving a young John de Lancie a lecture on maturity?

@avclub-0ae7484a9f3bbd2a21df420050c032ae:disqus That's true. And also Damar's drunkenly giggling, "Maybe you should talk to Worf again".

@avclub-d7f43e1fb2d4977c86163d9b0cb07814:disqus I always found Ezri pretty endearing, she has this plucky underdog quality that's hard not to root for. I think they were smart in making her character overly eager to not step on any toes, because there's really no way to gracefully integrate a main cast member (and a…

One of my favorite moments later in the series is when a certain character reveals to Sisko that Worf is intimidated by him, and Sisko finds that incredibly funny.

I mean, is anything more cartoonishly self-congratulatory than the crew of the Enterprise showing Mark Twain how great the future is in…

Bringing Worf on may have been a hail mary for ratings (and studio pressure on top of that), but it's one of those rare times it was the right creative choice, too. Though he does hog screentime as the series goes on.

@avclub-c6447300d99fdbf4f3f7966295b8b5be:disqus One of the downsides of reviewing a series in bulk, I guess, is that people start to pick up on your writing patterns and needle you about them. It's okay, I enjoy your preambles! ;p
