I won't say expectations, that wouldn't be fair, but it's highly important in whatever neighborhood you live in.

100% this. No offense to Luke but I’m not sure he understands how important this detail is, at least in this specific story. Maybe now he does :)

The underage/overseving, I forgot about that! I swear they just took that as an excuse to cut costs across the board, and no more kind-of-annoying cutie pie on the commercials.

Quality is tied to locations, and there were too many locations for a while. The 24hr one kinda near me is good, though the closest one sucks due to, it seems, poor management. They’re famous for breakfast tacos but the locations that struggle really hurt during breakfast time due to unreliable, poorly trained hires.

You tend to make assessment of what’s going on in your life, multiple times, just before a baby comes into the picture. Some do it in an outwardly, slightly obnoxious way like him thinking they can do EVERYTHING they want and need. I say this with some jealousy, assuming the two companies are more than just LLCs.

Taco Cabana has suffered greatly during their expansion. Prices are bad, quality down, customer service is bad at certain locations.

The Soul is a great car. I'm glad it worked out for her!

Dude, I want to hear these stories, even if it's just confirmation bias.

Jimmy Buffett? That’s like a 10-year old Tahoe.

The Optima is already showing up with the usual Altima crowd. Not as beat up as an ‘07 2.5S (either weaving in and out of traffic or going well under the speed limit) but you’re right just give it time.

Nissan’s success in NA stems from undercutting Honda and Toyota prices and offer financing where the other two simply don’t need to. They do all of this selling an inferior product with aggressive advertising, like the terrible Star Wars promotion.

It doesn’t help that the any Wrangler variants are more easily subject to dealer mods than anything else. It perhaps speaks more about the idiot non-car fans willing to pay for one of these “things” than it really does the dealer.

“I hope.... America’s 911"

That’s...actually quite fascinating. Good to hear. I trust your observations so that helps.

I can only assume “more types of people” is just white hipsters in our age group that are not car people. Oh yeah, but have money.

Pensions are under attack everywhere in every sector, and healthcare is such a variable that only God knows what it will be like in a few years. Not a joke.

I was in middle school in ‘95 and remember the TG16 going down to $99 bucks. By that year I was already planning my next Toys R Us gift certificate-holder purchase...a PlayStation by January ‘96.

The guy is a Vietnam vet for fucks sake. That letter showed growth, and if that's not enough, try having kids...as much as it sucks during the age of Cheetolini.

You make it sound like you missed out in part due to tuners. You should thank them instead.

If he had moved up from the Neon (it’s a fuckin Neon) to the GT-R, that’s not such a bad thought, but I don’t see Dodge back then (or now) willing to use a new product as a hero car on screen, then to be replaced by something much grander.
