I once worked for a company that hired a “safety expert” for a seminar on practical tips for personal safety. The speaker was a big, bellowing, southern ex-cop, and in a patronizing “listen up, ladies!” tone told us the following:

Yeah, I was expecting a bunch of morning drunk, lululemon wearing sorority girls causing a kerfuffle. Not a bunch of alums at a national conference carrying GASP!!! BOOKS!!!! Meanwhile, didn’t the TSA just fail like 97% surprise tests of screening actual guns, knives and incendiary devices?

This movie was overrated 20 yeas ago, probably hasn’t aged well. Plus, this was one of those good but brutal “if you’ve endured it once, you NEVER need to see it again” movies, like Requiem for a Dream.

Who else misses that powdery smell that clung to all your grandma’s cosmetics? :(
