Are these cars all really unreliable? I hear a lot about Mercedes, Range/Land Rovers, and Volkswagens, but not much about Porsche and BMW

Drove the M3 and M4 last week and was generally impressed with the cars... the sound that the car makes is addicting. The really bummer was the steering, did not feel particularly sharp or reactive, regardless what setting you put it on.
