I think this is a misread of Trump and what motivates him. Trump doesn’t think (or care) for a minute that Popp and Kerr said anything critical of America, and he doesn’t see himself as a stand-in for this country. It’s far simpler than that: Trump cares about Trump. Full stop. Everything else is window dressing.

But Trump has nothing to do with the running of his clubs/golf courses now that he’s president! His son is running the company, and they never ever EVER talk about the company because That Would Be Wrong. /s
