[right...so first off, apologies for the wall of text...I’ve been listening to the BBC for an inadvisable portion of the last few days in addition to seeing a fair bit about this stuff here or there & my thoughts somewhat ran away with me...sorry you drew the short straw...]

to which really I feel there’s only one acceptable response...

well, there’s a part of me that chuckles every time I see your name pop up even before I read what you wrote...so I’d say you have a leg up if you do...did think that you could just keep things as they are but reserve the narf for those most deserving, though...

even if he’s really the great & terrible wizard of tomatOz So Emotional is not The Brain...

I get what you’re saying but the conceptual bit comes in because I’d be lying if I claimed I wouldn’t feel like I was picking sides even if all I did was come to a conclusion about whether or not I feel like the positive outcomes would outweigh the negative ones...growing up/going to school down south with the bulk of

honestly I’m a bit hazy as to how it might work in practice because I’m not sure exactly what the difference between the “government of national unity” phenomenon is & the version where the leader of the party with the 2nd largest number of seats gets a crack at building a coalition...

being as I already wildly overuse ellipses...& can recall a UK TV show called Citizen Smith...

under those circumstances the convention is that as the leader of the second biggest party the queen invites him to assemble a government, so he would be the leader of it if he could build a suitable coalition...at least by default...

I think there’s a little more theatre at play than that simplification allows for, though...sure no deal is off the table again but arguably that plays into his hands to some extent...so long as he can blame some other sucker then he doesn’t care how many of the things he says he’ll do he never actually does...& in

insane as it sounds it could even be the same damn tory asshole...

like I said, I certainly understand (& even sympathize with) the sentiment but the difference it would make to me, personally, is almost entirely conceptual...

wondered about the subtitles for emphasis but it made sense when it got to the banner at the end...

Spitting Image used to get away with using puppets...but I do find it absurd that John Oliver can’t air those segments in the UK...

fair enough...although I do think you might have misconstrued the point of my question a little...

a .308 for a rabbit...things have changed since I was a kid apparently...never would have gone above a .22 for a rabbit...maybe even .177 if we were using an air rifle...

you should call it “ the defenestrators"...

I think the key to the nicknames' appeal (& the chants at those rally things or the online meme stuff) isn’t so much that they’re aimed solely at conspicuously dumb people...
