That's pretty much exactly what happened with me. I was pretty much always carrying a Baxter novel with me until I was twenty or so.

The Xeelee Sequence doesn't get enough love. So many different stories and wildly different physics crammed into one continuity.

My first was probably the Amiga 500 but it was all pretty standard stuff. Lots of excitement, lots of game playing (it was the Batman Pack so I was massively popular that year)

that's kinda like the iRobot movie... despite being blasted apart with guns, the machines generally just overwhelmed the humans they weren't allowed to harm and 'hug' them until they gave up.

Needs more Killbane.... would make the trailer more 'fabulous'.
