I think my favorite part of most of your articles is the fact that you take the time to document with illustrative photos. Out there on the side of the road struggling with this, but still photographing along the way so that we can learn or be amused is a level of dedication I appreciate.

It is an actual gear activated with a foot lever. Amusingly, using it does turn on the bike’s hazards and makes it beep loudly so everyone knows something’s up.

The miles of copper pair needed to run old-school call boxes is essentially zero metal relative to what it would take to do the same thing with charging stations. And that’s not even counting radio based call boxes.
