On the recent “Junkyard Digs” revival of a 1972 Cutlass S, they found a spare ignition key wired to the bottom of the radiator, and a door key wired to the bottom of the washer fluid cap. It was some of the most ingenious spare key hiding I’ve ever seen.
Yep, I used similar technique when keys were simple. Now keys are complex and expensive and large.
I don’t see any of these “near t-bones” as an issue, personally.
You’re looking at it through human eyes. A sufficiently developed computer-driven car can make everything look like a near-miss. The math isn’t that hard to determine how fast you can cross an intersection and miss the car that’s already in it.
