Ha oh gotcha. Good grief this conversation is quite confusing!

Pretty sure people called the PS1 the PSX well before the actual PSX came about OR the slim model came about.

There’s a lot of technique that you’ll see in there that still shows up today. I won’t say it’s as revolutionary for a genre as, say, Bladerunner but it was absolutely trend setting and is a pretty poignant/beautiful/sad film.

Jacob’s Ladder is an absolutely classic and an amazing movie. Watch it. Anybody interested in film or, hell, any storytelling should consider it required viewing.

I feel like half of this article has been left out. Like literally every other sentence or something.

This article is a year old so I don’t expect anyone to notice, but I just caught wind of it. And this caught my eye:

“ He himself was run down and nearly evicted from the premises for the crime of ducking under a rope near a putting green to cross a forbidden expanse of five feet”

Holy crap this happened to me and my

Photogrammetry most certainly bakes in the lighting because it’s literally using photographs which are produced by light. If there are shadows in your photographs and your texture and geometry is derived from that photography, then that shadow is going to be there and now you’re locked into a certain direction your

They’re realistic because it’s literally a photo. Which makes for great static shots, but has zero interactivity. And you’re limited to what’s in the photo. a 3D mesh is captured but that doesn’t really guarantee anything. It shortens the pipeline which is great, but it bakes in your lighting and effects so really

No, actually that IS basically just a photo applied to some simple(r) geometry. It’s not interactive, it’s not dynamic. It’s basically the baby of the ole CG “cheat” called camera projection. The lighting in that scene is baked into the geometry (hence the tight shots that show almost zero camera parallax or

Cool tech, cool art, and a seeming cool story.

And then they name it “Hellblade.” I know it’s a long time coming, but maybe it’s time to stop getting video game titles from your 13 year old nephew?

Actually, this is the best fan-made-recut trailer:

I finally figured out what Leto’s Joker reminds me of (especially after watching his body movements in this video):

Blarg. I submitted Wasabi Ranch the year before (and this year too I think). So close to a million. I mean, not really, but I'm gonna pretend.

Immediately what I thought of. Surely the dubstep gun in the trailer was a wink and nod to SR4.

To be honest this looks way less like an improved graphics engine and more like straight camera projection. Especially when he gets near the trash pile. It really only looks really good as he's on top of it. On the run up to it, it looks a little off.

I KNEW I noticed that set from somewhere:

Nice to see that dust effects are still nothing more that rotating sprite effects. :\

Hahahaah. CEO's being held accountable... that's a good one.

It doesn't. The guy kept screwing it up, because as he was dismounting it he accidentally started to record a different video and didn't realize it so that's why he kept botching it up (he didn't realize he had started to record another video). I can personally attest that it's as simple as tapping the screen once

Because then you have to deal with the ball. You need to be able to remove the lowering device a safe distance away to remove any chance for failure. Imagine getting the rover all the way to mars and safely on the surface...only to have the thing rendered useless because some balloon fabric got caught in an axle.
