Sometimes you’re blinded by your own code. You’ve looked at it over a hundred times and don’t see anything wrong. One fresh set of eyes on it and BAM, you see the problem and solution in one simple fix.

It would take half an hour to notice those if you knew exactly where to look. A game like this is millions of lines of code. It’s more likely a case where they knew it took a long time to load, they knew why it took a long time to load, but they were under the impression that whatever the game was doing had to be done. If the devs took a look at the code meaning to fix it then maybe yeah, but they most likely all had other stuff to do. The average coder at a major doesn’t come to work every day with nothing to do. There’s a schedule and they work to complete what’s scheduled.
