I now feel bad for calling the kid dumb. Just found out he has Downs. But really, all kids are dumb.

I don't see what the problem is. The kid looks to be about 30 pounds and is supporting himself on the counter. If the dog had yelped, tried to leave or growled to show it was uncomfortable, I'd bet the kid would have gotten off.
