Exactly. She has adapted - she didn’t put the child up for adoption, she loves her daughter and she will be her mum. But this was negligence and I would sue too, if only to ensure that my daughter would want for nothing.

That’s the issue; if she was partnered with a POC, at least she would have her partner to help her adapt, and the child would have parents and extended family that share their race.

I think it’s good the case was thrown out but it does set a dangerous precedence. The couple was mostly upset because they wanted both their kids to have the same father, which is something that goes beyond race. Future couples now have to be wary and the sperm bank should be held accountable for that.
