The BSG reboot was awesome science fiction. I loved it...much like most series it lost its way here and there towards the end but it was still some of the best science fiction that has ever graced a television set.

I don’t know why everyone is writing this show off - it’s two fucking episodes, people. Seriously, give it half a season or so to get it’s legs under it. How many shows had a weak first season that eventually went on to greatness (yeah, I’m looking at you B5 and TNG).

Lately there are far more bad than good Episode Twos. Too often they try to be a second pilot episode, bringing everyone up to speed that heard the pilot was good and is tuning in to give it a shot. I remember specifically in In The Flesh (an otherwise decent show) episode two started by restating the entire premise…

Yup. These were volunteers on top of all else. I’m waiting to see how many of those volunteers were white. If 90% of them were white then selecting all whites is more than reasonable so long as they passed other necessary qualifications and had a better resume.
