See, I think Naughty Dog could teach the industry a few things about the ‘uncanny valley’ it’s always been due to the eyes that create the gap between real and unreal expressionism, but they absolutely nailed it.

Entertainment is such a privilege, because of the hard work that goes into making it, surely your $50 pays towards it, but the hard working developers under draconian deadlines see a merely pittance of that.

Photo modes should be a mandatory for games that have a beautiful aesthetic. I remember when I was playing Forza, and i got a bit impatient mid-race (it was a 7 lap charge and i was in first position, so i was just cruising) & i remembered that it had a photo mode, lined up my shot, felt pleased and happily finished…

I watched like 30 minutes of it, and was fathomed by the fact i'd discovered a new level of boredom by just sitting and doing nothing but expect an impressive display.

& that was without the humiliating effort the The Order:1886 required for making an actual playthrough happen.

These figures are in absolutely poor taste, epecially the Ned & Robb Stark ones.


But they're so abstractly elegant, I can't help but fight the urge to own them, & subsequently upset any GOT fan who comes into my house.

I'm not going to let some youtube video capture swing the tide, I'm going to see with my own eyes the comparison, then i'm going to be completely indifferent and actually enjoy the concept of playing the game. Value eye candy over substance? Go watch Pacific Rim whilst mindlessly hammering an unplugged game pad.

I just heard the soundtrack to Shadow Of The Colossus.
