Of course the US regularly asks for extradition to itself on copywrite charges and other minutia, let alone murder charges, but when has raging hypocrisy ever stopped it?

Yeah, it might be time for a civil case on his part, if he hasn't done so already.

You're not pissing in my cornflakes, I live in Britain, the country with more CCTV than anywhere else (supposedly), I'm well aware of how pervasive it is. I found this quite interesting for example: [www.thisislondon.co.uk]

This reminds me of parents on a TV show I saw who installed CCTV in their kids' bedroom in order to keep an eye on them. Sensible on the surface? Yes. Orwellian nightmare? Hell yes.

That sounds really cool actually. Of course I live in the UK so we can drink at 18, and I've never even heard of "campus security" here.

Maybe, but banning people from drinking has never actually stopped them has it? See prohibition era America. It could also mean that students are reluctant to report violent crime for fear of being disciplined for alcohol consumption.

The version of this I heard of (third hand) was that they would have one thumb in their own mouth and one in the ass of the guy in front....then switch hands.

Perhaps, but that could just end up with airlines barring people with flying phobias completely, or making them sign some sort of waiver. Actually I would be surprised if there wasn't something similar already in the terms and conditions of your ticket.

Maybe I'm being naive, but did the anger counseling never actually work?

I was under the impression that arranged marriages were still somewhat common? Of course that's mostly from talking to my friend, who is totally uninterested in women (or men) and has said that the only way he'll get married is if his parents arrange it.

British Broadcasting Corporation

He, but thanks.

Hmm, it occurs it to me that when I sead "treats" it might not have been obvious that I meant in terms of rehabilitation, as in the way you would "treat" a medical condition. I wasn't referring to its every interaction with offenders.

It seems like this is two different issues:

Pretty much. If I remember correctly, dealing with his past involved writing a single letter to his mother (which wouldn't be mailed) about the fact she allowed him to be abused, and hitting a foam model with a bat for 10 minutes to get his anger out. After that he was home free!

I remember seeing a documentary about a man with sex addiction who had been the victim of repeated sexual abuse as a child. The advice from his "therapist"? Prayer.

................................................penis envy.

Not if you read up on the conditions in the US penal system. Of course here in Scotland the life expectancy of a homeless person is 47, and that's with completely free healthcare on the national health service, so 20 years would be a blessing.

And some people actually act outraged when I compare Israel to an apartheid state.

Is this from his books or the man himself? I've never heard it before.
