Yes, indeed. It’s about the Franklin expedition, seen through the book The Terror, which is a horror story. Menzies plays the real-life character who, I think, took over the expedition after Franklin died.

I’m Canadian, you don’t get through school here without learning about the Franklin Expedition. A few years ago our Prime Minister ordered Parks Canada scientists to “find the Erebus and the Terror”, and they did, lol. There is so much mythology about what happened after the ships were grounded, that it might as well…

It’s really good, but it’s verryy thick and dense story-telling.

I don’t mind the daughter, end-of-Season-2 histrionics aside. Hard to imagine reacting any other way when your mother tells you your father is from the 18th Century.

The actor, Tobias Menzies, is a terrific, very busy actor. This fall he and several others will be in a TV adaptation of the book The Terror, about the doomed Franklin Expedition, just another show that we have to wait TOO LONG to see. ;)
