We can always go etch it on his tombstone if they don’t. ;)

Ha. HaHaHa.

I’m not sure if I want to read the book before or after I see the series. Everyone in the Franklin expedition died eventually. :(

And I feel horrible liking it.

According to imdb, he plays James Fitzjames, who is a real life character. After the ships were grounded and Franklin died (in real life), Fitzjames took over the expedition. According to the accounts of Inuit who lived in that time, there were many sightings of strangely dressed men throughout their lands for some

Did it ever occur to you that he was trying to pick you up? ;)

Wut? The Queen was 10 when Edward abdicated. She would have had no say in how he was treated. By the time she became the monarch, he was off leading his own ridiculous, pro-Nazi life.

Exactly right. The press was braying for them to put on some kind of show, and they knew it. It was shameful.

*Sob*

Yes, indeed. It’s about the Franklin expedition, seen through the book The Terror, which is a horror story. Menzies plays the real-life character who, I think, took over the expedition after Franklin died.

Yikes. I remember bookmark freakouts from my university days. So, what is sometimes insensitively referred to as “famine porn”?

So, what was the dissertation about? ;)

Okie dokie.

You met him and he’s nice? Great to hear that, It would have been easy for him to live under the radar until now, I guess Outlander has kinda ruined that for him.

I’m Canadian, you don’t get through school here without learning about the Franklin Expedition. A few years ago our Prime Minister ordered Parks Canada scientists to “find the Erebus and the Terror”, and they did, lol. There is so much mythology about what happened after the ships were grounded, that it might as well

I think there will be a lot more noise as the premiere approaches. :)

It’s really good, but it’s verryy thick and dense story-telling.

I don’t mind the daughter, end-of-Season-2 histrionics aside. Hard to imagine reacting any other way when your mother tells you your father is from the 18th Century.

The actor, Tobias Menzies, is a terrific, very busy actor. This fall he and several others will be in a TV adaptation of the book The Terror, about the doomed Franklin Expedition, just another show that we have to wait TOO LONG to see. ;)

“I think they feel like the closer they get the faster the line will move.”  Ha, I believe this is exactly what’s going on!
