Just a small correction - he isn’t being tried by a jury, he elected a trial by judge only, not sure if that’s available in US as well.

Great story, but be careful. My arm was broken in two places last year because I stopped to watch a fight. Guy being beat up broke free and plowed into me, CRASH.
But does the family know what recourse they have against this judge? Do you know if they or their lawyer is taking any action? I’m absolutely horrified by this.
