Dear gawd. Please tell me no one has ever texted "I can haz breakup?" :(

@braak: Don't feel bad for assuming things about the Saudi government. They look the other way while people within their borders plot more attacks against Western governments. Though Muslim, they are definitely not an oppressed people.

@FrazyChick: I haven't watched this clip and I've never seen this show, but that's very strange; Daniel Baldwin has been in trouble with drink and drugs since his days in Homicide: Life on the Street in the early 90's. WELL publicized.

@braak: I don't know if it's uncouth - the appeal judges in that rape case added more punishment partly because the victim and her lawyer had gone public with her case - I seem to remember that they took some kind of action against her lawyer as well. So it's not beyond the realm of possibility that she has no right

@braak: Jesus, they'd probably add on a hundred lashes to her death penalty if her photo started appearing on news sites. "Consorting with strange male photographers" or something. Ugh.

@J.D.Regent: It's Jeane Kirkpatrick's influence, from the days of Chile's fascist and totalitarian oppression of their citizens - it's okay to support any anti-communist government. "Traditional authoritarian governments are less repressive than revolutionary autocracies." Whatever, Jeane.

@allora: *applause* I wish I'd said that.

@meaghan2k: Duck! Cleese and Palin = sooooo funny in that scene.

@meanmommy: That's what I think the problem might be, drinking makes her boyfriend fuzzy-brained.

@Xylo: Through my eyeballs, to be more precise.

@Trashtastic: Not for me. One or two during the day or early evening is fine, but if I drink too late at night then go right to sleep, I'm fucked. I wake up feeling like I have a spike through my head. Exact same thing with chocolate.

@KidPresentable: YES! That's as bad as it can get for my young friend. He lives in Vancouver, I'm in Toronto, I still freak myself out around my apartment with peanut butter, scrubbing my counter and my hands after breakfast "in case they come east for a surprise visit". And (not to sound like too much of a freak),

Booze helps with migraines? 'k, I'm pretty sure that's not true, right? *boggle*

@meaghan2k: Wood!!! (haha, I was just watching this last night).

@meaghan2k: Bwaa! You're right. I'm not here very often nowadays, I sometimes suck at clicking.

@labronk: Hey, is there a link to that NYT article?

@BiscuitDoughJones: Yeah, telling her to get a new job is mean. I have a little friend who is deathly allergic to peanuts - it took a lot of work by parents all over Canada to get schools sensitive to this issue, lots of schools ban peanuts to accommodate kids like him. The first response, back in the day, was

Also, I believe that if you point out to the Saudis that they lack written laws governing private life of women, they would just point to the Quran.

@ineffable.me: Yes, as "evidence" that there is something wrong with a particular woman, that one is very useful.
