I've never had even the slightest interest in playing sports games (Mario Tennis was about as close as I've come). This may seem like an absurd question to those of you who play them, but what's the point of buying the same game every year? I'm an entirely outside observer, but it seems like the genre hasn't changed

Why is she sticking her ass out and pushing her tits together? Liara is a scientist, not a stripper.

Does anyone have experience buying cellphones online and shipping to Canada? I've started comparing smartphones, but I would prefer to buy one factory-unlocked (I'm on Koodo). I've generally avoided buying major electronics online. Anything specific I should be looking out for?

Pfft. That's not in his brain

You can make a case for some conservative principles benefiting science as practical application, but I think the heart of the issue is that the conservatives are deeply entwined with christianity. Conservatives are not inherently anti-science; religion very often is.

As has been mentioned, the key factor in the US is that they are trying to keep evolution out of classrooms.

Magazines, newspapers, journals... Anything broken up into relatively short articles, I find much more convenient to read online. It's faster to find what you're looking for, and easier to gloss over what you're not.

I have mixed feelings about changes. It is very iconic, but I just can't take a live-actor seriously in blue spandex and red underwear. It looks ridiculous.

My brother found this old bible. At the front it had reference pages for where to turn for guidance on various topics (depression, parenting, substance abuse, etc). He came up with a game where you read the indicated passage, and then the other player has 10 guesses to try to figure out what topic this might be

Beta is the main game; the one getting updates. Adventure mode has been talked about but doesn't exist. Beta is Survival mode; it has mobs that spawn with the day/night cycle; you must mine your supplies.

Ah I wish I had that half an hour ago

I might be able to accept it as re-writing time, but this episode also went out of it's way to focus on how the Doctor's death at the lake in Utah is a fixed point. They confirm it was the real doctor. They confirm the astronaut was really River killing him. Fixed point. Why would they make a point of explicitly

I can't think of an episode of Doctor Who that I have disliked as much as this one. We've seen some pretty slow build-ups in this series (Bad Wolf, where are the bees? etc). Then we introduce this character who they've "known their entire lives" and is their "best friend" in a single episode?

The most practical use for it I can think of is a little media centre to manage my background music.

I think the idea is that you can use the touchpad instead of a mouse while you're on the go/pressed for space, or that it can just be an extra little display while you do use a mouse.

Minecraft + Pokemon are two of my biggest time sinks of all time. This might be the worst thing ever. I'm in trouble.

Anyone recommend a good SNES emulator? Preferably one that works nicely with a 360 controller.

You do realize the Schwarzenegger movie isn't the original source material, right? I could've sworn it was on io9 where I read an interview with Jason Momoa talking about how they want to go back to the original books, and other comics, rather than remaking another old movie...
