The key is to wait for rush hour / when school gets out. Here in Portland if you get the timing right, you will not be able to sit because everyone is going home. If you are unlucky enough to have a bus line along a school, then you are doubly screwed.

I was about to say, LiON - and more stable derivatives - have a useful life of roughly 10 years. This can be extended slightly with different compounds and stabilized usage, however even then you get around 15 years IIRC.
