The Waymo taxis have mechanical LIDAR scanners on the roof and at each corner, and they operate in carefully limited environments. No way Musk’s ego would permit that much caution, expense or maintenance.

It occurred to me that Not Just Bikes never has a show with 30-40 mph gusting winds during a downpour showing all those happy pedestrians and cyclists tooling about. 

Seems like the only way Leon’s Robotaxis are going to make it to market by 2026 is if they steal code and/or higher ups from Waymo.  Waymo has been working on the issue for 15 years, no way Tesla is going to be able to meet that kind of sophistication in two years.

LOL right, also unlimited means UNLIMITED unless it says it’s not in the fine print. But also how the hell do you drive 25k miles in a month. Like 1000 miles a day is almost 15 straight HOURS driving 70 mph. I like to drive but damn. That’s like driving across the US almost 9 times in a month.

It’s safe to assume that people who own a Tesla and post about it on Twitter are not driving it in a responsible manner.

Living in a rural area, and it being late October, I would hardly call a deer in the road an edge case. I’ve probably seen as many of them driving this week as I have red lights.

The car did alert after hitting the deer, it just alerted RFK, Jr. to come pick up the carcass and dispose of it in Central Park. That’s the new protocol.

That’s because enormous wealth generates even greater wealth. Despite tanking Twitter, and destroying the Tesla brand, these (literal) billions of dollars down the tank amount to a drip in the bucket to his total holdings. He’s an idiot, and yet can’t lose enough money fast enough to put a ding into the overall wealth…

So DeJoy got something right with these new trucks; doesn’t erase his fuckery prior to the last election. He’s gotta go.

For something as essential and utilitarian as a postal truck, it’s nice that appearance was the least important factor and they went all in on function. Hopefully, the reliability is just as good as the form factor.

They’re goofy looking, but honestly pretty endearing, and being purpose-built whilst also increasing safety and comfort is a huge win. 

Geico is by far my cheapest option and I dont really know how. Progressive was robbing me blind before switching.
