people hate on them because they could be so much better then what they have been. ACII and the pirate ACs are pretty great, but imagine if they had a bit more time to refine them and iron out bugs?

I don't think it's a game, really. Why does it have to be a game? How is "Not a game" actually insulting? It's interactive entertainment, it's missing the majority of qualities that typically form a game - yeah, the medium evolves and changes, but if people want to say it's not a game...who cares?
