i use the term modern very loosely, before we renovated the bathroom in our house and installed a new tub our old tub was a fiberglass resin one with an enamel paint on the inside to make it smooth and tretcherously slippery.

a lot of modern tubs are made of either plastic or fiberglass resin compounds so its actually very, very light in comparison!
