@unluckynumber11: well, try buying a slightly more expensive one or borrow someone elses and test it, it might be a faulty wire or maybe down to your hardware.

i bought the cheapest i could find in my local home bargins for £2, one of them lost its sound some how so i bought another one and its worked fine ever since, its only like a foot, maybe a foot and a half but my setup is pretty close together and works perfectly, snug too.
