The phrase of “you could buy a Mustang”=sarcasm in Jalopspeak.. You can equate it to “Karen”. There’s nothing wrong with a Mustang but any seasoned Jalopnik reader will recognize the phrase.

While the 5 touring is nice, it is aimed at a different demographic. The GT is taller (easier entry) and has just enough extra utility for the people it’s targeted at: Seniors. Seniors have money while most of us jalops are chasing after the next obscure 40 year old cult car.
These types of hatchbacks were the big sellers in the UK, outselling sedans. All mainstream cars such as the Mondeo, Vectra, etc, sold primarily as hatchbacks.
Obvious statement is obvious. What is interesting about this exercise is the practical demonstration of how much recharge the cyclists can generate.
Contraption is a curious way to describe it. It was a pretty cool car, and a great entry for the event it was targeted at: The Safari Rally, where durability was of far greater importance. The only rally that the mid-engined 4wd group B wonder cars never conquered.
Are you sure? It’s the size of an older Tacoma.
To the poster, ask your husband whether he has an idea. If he doesn’t, ask him to broach the question.
Please kind sir, stop bringing attention to early Celicas. They will be unaffordable by the time I get to shopping for one, for a 2JZ-GE swapped project.
Sounds like they got the statue right.
I want y’alls to stop hating on that beautiful pearl pink Cadillac, M’kay?
They don't tell you the downside of stow-and-go: The seats are paper thin
As awesome as stow and go is, the fact is that a minivan already has an incredible amount of storage with just the third row folded down. That will suffice 99.999999% of the time. It’s not worth the loss in comfort for the minimally padded middle stow seats, for that very occasional convenience.
You can get a boxster for $15 but it won't be one of those you have pictured.
Did you check the prices? Not in the same zone.
The judge probably lives in that gated community. /Fat Chance
I’ve not understood why cars do not have an in built phone mount. Every other car on the road is driving around with a phone on an aftermarket mount, or worse, phone in hand.
Ok numbnut. What he means is that most people already have their phones set up for the music and playlists they want, and they are very comfortable using their phones interface and music apps, so why switch that to a car’s interface? No one really messes around with their streaming once they have it going so screen…
I was going to make a snarky comment about how a real Lotus would add lightness. But then it occurred to me the Cosco Lotus does just that every time it unloads at dock.
That's like $20 million in today's money.
How to turn a wrecked C8 into an even greater wreck. On a serious note I'd absolutely love to get my hands on an untainted C8 chassis to build a dream kit car.
