In the one picture I have of me in my dress from the store, I look like I am going to pass out. It was the last of SO MANY I tried on, and I was having no moment beyond, ARE WE DONE. WHY ARE YOU TAKING A PICTURE

I discovered it randomly and have not met anyone else who has seen it!

She probably technically has to apply, and it would be bad form to just announce where she is planning on going before acceptances go out, but she totally can just choose a school, right? No school is going to say “no” to her.

And in the Victorian era even MORE people didn’t follow their dreams because, as she put it “They kn[e]w the world is a cruel place for anyone who doesn’t fit into the dominant culture” and the dominant culture was white, male, and wealthy. Didn’t fit into all three? Shit out of luck. I mean, I know it’s still like

This is what I was thinking the whole time I read that essay. I just kept thinking “how can you be nostalgic for a time when it was SO BAD for SO MANY people?” For a way more fun and cynical “living in other eras” attempt I highly highly reccomend the show The Supersizers Go. Each epiosode the two hosts —a food critic

BUT BUT! It’s a country that belongs to white people! I mean that’s totally 100% true since the country was just empty of any people when white people arrived here. Right?

It’s not that I WANT to take down the country, it’s just that it’s in my biology. I can’t help it, I was born this way, with the bent on destruction switch stuck on on :-/ (and as soon as I type this, I get paranoid that someone is going to think I’m serious. I’m NOT)

Hahah! Dooo it. Or here:

Confession: I signed up for three Pottermore accounts until I got sorted into Ravenclaw

The other thing is, if he knows he’s goign to get it for free, why bother making them ring it up in the cheapest way?

I did ONLY AFTER troll was ungreyed by someone else, so now troll’s comments are ungreyed, but mine are grey. Can someone help with that? Troll comment has also been starred :-(

Well you are out of the grays, so I may as well respond.

Ah. I'm less confused now

Wait, it's not a chain thing? I mean is Dunking mom and pop? (He still should have said thanks)

Depends on your lead time, the dress, and the fabric. I am having sleeves added and we bought extra lace applique, hem lace, and tulle from the designer/manufacturer, and that seemed like something most places would do. David’s Bridal won’t because they want you to do alterations in house. (This is the dress I am

I’ve heard of really random alternatives (a gov’t bond, a popcorn maker) but those aren’t really my stories to tell. I inherited my grandmother’s beautiful ring (she died on my grandparents’ 69th wedding anniversary) but my fiance wanted to buy me something so he proposed with this

A random taxi driver once told me (before I was engaged) that I “deserved a ring the size of a chickpea” to which the only response I could come up with was “have you ever SEEN a chickpea??”

Also, assess, not asses, right?

David’s bridal can do some of theirs faster than four months, but you should call around to a bunch of stores. I got my dress in a month, which I didn’t need (though helpful for alterations), because the dress I chose was one the manufacturer had in stock, and the people helping me knew which dresses would come

Don’t worry. It’s already happening DESPITE the Wiz already being a black show. From THe Hollywood Reporter site:
