A much needed resource. I could have used it on the infamous Campsite Neighbours From California evening two years ago...
I don’t know if it’s part of a permanent exhibit, but when I went they had a fascinating exhibit of Inuit shoes from all different regions. It was so cool to see the similarities and differences between Alaska, Canada, Greenland and Russia.
We can start a club! I, too, have a B.A. in philosophy (and psychology - bam - twice the career for none of the effort!)
I have a B.A. in psychology. I have never worked in the field. Am I a psychologist?
I have a bunch of friends in Canadian publishing and they’ve basically all told me that her books are good but she is... less good. Some of that stuff has become public recently with the Steven Galloway letter and her nimby-ness about condos in her neighbourhood.
I still have an hour left at work today and I genuinely don’t know if I’ll get any more work done now that this video (and its amazing gifs) have entered my life.
Oh my god. I already want to watch this on repeat for the rest of my life. Fascinated is the right word for it!
When I was 16ish I worked at day camps for 5-8 year olds and holy shit the things these kids would do for a sticker... I saw it come to blows over glitter stickers more than once.
My mum worked part time, but was home when I got in from school so my experience was basically the same as having a stay at home parent. I was probably a little spoiled, but in ways that I didn’t really recognize as a kid. I had homemade lunches and baked treats almost every day, so of course I coveted the bought…
Thanks to different Chinese dialects, if you got your tea by land you call it chai and if you got it by sea you call it tea. In English speaking countries people use “chai tea” to refer to masala chai, which is a specific blend, so “chai” has a specific meaning now for English speakers. That’s how English works - it…
I just read Alyssa Cole’s Off The Grid series so this topic is already top of mind. It was good, I would recommend it. But also I need to get some new skills before the apocalypse. I don’t think you can barter with data analysis and weird trivia facts.
They deleted my reply to them about it being a hetero relationship regardless of the parents (or Fairy Feller’s) bias and ignorance... so apparently not interested in addressing that one.
I’m right now. Some people just haven’t caught up.
If your argument was just that his family might not consider it hetero that would be one thing, but based on all the information we have this is a hetero relationship, regardless of his parents’ biases and ignorance (and regardless of yours).
He is a man and she is a woman. It doesn’t matter what is in either of their pants. Trans woman is just a descriptor. Tall woman, funny woman, Jewish woman, cis woman...
Thank you for your service to humanity.
Based on the paragraph before the letter this is a man dating a woman, so it’s a hetero relationship. The use of “homophobia” I think is meant as a catch all for LGBTQ.
Whaaat.... that’s terrible! The only two times I’ve done this it’s been fine - but that was in New Zealand so maybe different standard practices. I also have had an IUD for two years now so it’s been a while since I had to.
I’d never used an applicator, and the only time I tried it was weird and uncomfortable so if I have to get a tampon from someone else I just take it apart now. But a friend of mine won’t use OBs - even if she has none of her own, she won’t take mine because she “can’t use those”. Uhhh... tab A goes into slot B?
